What the agent actually does
Underneath the chat, the agent's tools split into a handful of jobs. One group works the job board itself: searching postings, reading a full description, scoring your resume against a specific role, and starting a real application.
A second group manages your resume: reading what's on file, curating a version for one posting, saving finished documents to a library that keeps every draft, and publishing a document as your live resume when you say so.
A third group is your inbox and calendar: checking connected Gmail or Outlook accounts for employer replies, searching correspondence Intervieux has already flagged, drafting and sending replies, proposing interview times, and adding a confirmed interview to your calendar.
A fourth is document authoring for anything beyond a resume, prep sheets, cover letters as standalone files, built as real downloadable PDF, DOCX, PPTX, or XLSX files rather than plain text pasted into chat. A fifth is memory: searching your own past conversations with the agent so it doesn't ask the same thing twice.
All of it draws from data you already control on Intervieux: your profile, your resume, your saved and applied jobs, your interview history, your connected accounts. None of it reaches into another candidate's account or an employer's internal pipeline data.
A walkthrough
You open the agent and type: "find remote data analyst roles that match my resume." It calls search_jobs with your query and profile, and a handful of postings render as cards beneath its reply, title, company, location, and pay where listed.
It tells you which two stand out and why, maybe one calls out a tool you already use daily, and offers the next move: score your fit against a specific one, save a couple for later, or start an application.
Say "how do I match the second one." It calls get_job_match and comes back with a score out of 10, what's already working in your favor, and what's thin. If a gap is real, it says so rather than smoothing it over.
Say "start my application." Before anything happens, it shows you exactly what that means, a real application the employer will see, and asks you to confirm. Only after you approve does start_application run, and it hands you the link to begin that job's AI interview.
Nothing in this flow happened without you either asking for it or explicitly saying yes.
Boundaries
What it will and won't do without you
The agent can read a lot on your behalf, your resume, your applications, your interview history, your connected inbox, and act on almost none of it without stopping to ask first. Anything that writes: saving a job, starting an application, publishing a resume, sending an email, adding a calendar event, shows you an approval card with the specific action spelled out and waits for your yes.
That's not a general policy applied loosely. The email-sending tools are hard-coded on a list the system will never auto-approve under any circumstance, including inside automated background runs, so there's no path where a message leaves your mailbox without you reading it first.
When it does send on your behalf, it can only reply to the sender of the specific message you point it at, never a new address it invents, and sending itself is bounded per hour and per day.
Inbox monitoring, when you turn it on, is narrow by design: it only matches mail from employers you actually applied to through Intervieux, the hiring platforms those applications went through, and any sender domains you explicitly added, and the AI only ever sees the sender, the subject line, and a snippet capped at 500 characters, never the full email.
Resume work runs under a standing truthfulness rule: the agent can select, reorder, and emphasize what's genuinely on your resume for a specific posting, and it cannot invent a skill, title, date, or number you don't actually have. And all of this is free the moment you're signed in.
Intervieux's subscription applies to practice interviews, not to the agent.

Is the AI career agent free to use?
Yes. Every signed-in candidate gets the full agent, job search, matching, application tracking, resume curation, document generation, LinkedIn import, inbox monitoring, and scheduling, with no billing gate. Intervieux's subscription only applies to practice AI interviews, which is a separate feature.
Can the agent apply to jobs or send emails without asking me first?
No. Starting an application, publishing a resume, and sending any email or calendar invite each require an approval card showing exactly what will happen before it happens. The sending tools are structurally excluded from any automated run that has no user present to approve them.
What can the agent see when it checks my inbox?
Only the sender address, the subject line, and a snippet of the message capped at 500 characters, never the full body. Monitoring itself is narrow: it only matches mail from employers you applied to, their hiring platforms, and sender domains you explicitly added.
Does the agent remember earlier conversations?
It can search your own past conversations for relevant context, so it doesn't repeat questions you've already answered, but it only searches, it never pulls in another user's history and it doesn't use anything it finds to skip an approval step.
