# Achievements and progress tracking

Achievements are milestone badges Intervieux awards for specific things a candidate does across their practice history, like completing all six practice interview types or scoring 90 percent or higher on a session, separate from the running score trends tracked in personal analytics.

A trend line shows direction. An achievement marks a specific point reached: the moment a candidate actually finished every practice type at least once, or the session where the score crossed 90 for the first time. Both stay on a candidate's record once reached, a fixed marker rather than something that can slip away in a later, weaker session.

## What it is

Intervieux offers seven interview types in total, six available for private practice and one, job-board intro screening, reserved for the real interview that happens when a candidate applies to an actual job. Achievements track specific accomplishments across that practice history. Well-rounded is earned once a candidate has completed all six practice types at least once, and Top performer is earned the first time a session scores 90 percent or higher. Both are fixed markers, not moving averages. Neither one asks a candidate to keep repeating a behavior forever; each is a threshold crossed once and kept.

## How it works

1. **Practice across interview types** — Six of the seven interview types are available for private practice: general, job-description-based, technical, comprehensive, resume-based, and salary negotiation.
2. **Complete a full set** — Finishing all six at least once satisfies the Well-rounded achievement.
3. **Score high on any session** — A single session scoring 90 percent or higher satisfies the Top performer achievement, regardless of which interview type it was.
4. **Achievements don't expire** — Once earned, an achievement stays on a candidate's record rather than resetting with future sessions.
5. **Track progress toward what's left** — A candidate can see which practice types they've covered and which are still open toward an achievement like Well-rounded.

## Well-rounded means all six, not just several

Practicing technical interviews five times doesn't satisfy Well-rounded. It's specifically about breadth: at least one completed session across each of the six practice types, general, job-description-based, technical, comprehensive, resume-based, and salary negotiation, before the badge counts as earned.

## Top performer is about a single strong session

This one isn't about consistency across a history of interviews. A single session that scores 90 percent or higher earns it, which means a candidate's very first interview, if it scores high enough, can earn Top performer immediately.

## Why the real screening type doesn't count toward Well-rounded

Job-board intro screening is the seventh interview type, but it's the real interview an employer actually sees when a candidate applies, not a private practice session. Achievements built around practice completeness track the six practice types specifically, keeping the real screening interview in its own category.

## A different lens than analytics

Personal analytics tracks scores and trends continuously: going up, staying flat, dipping after a hard session. Achievements mark fixed points reached along that same history rather than the ongoing trend itself, a record of specific milestones rather than a running comparison.

## Two very different kinds of goal

Well-rounded rewards breadth over time, deliberately practicing a type a candidate might otherwise avoid, like salary negotiation. Top performer rewards a single strong result, which can happen on the first attempt or the fiftieth. Having both means a candidate can work toward whichever kind of progress actually motivates them, steady coverage across every type or one genuinely strong session.

## Who it's for

Achievements suit candidates who like a concrete goal while practicing rather than an open-ended trend line, someone working toward Well-rounded by deliberately trying interview types they'd otherwise skip, or aiming for a 90 percent session to earn Top performer. They give practice a specific target beyond just improving generally, which matters most early on when a candidate is still deciding which interview types are worth spending practice time on. A candidate who's already strong in one area might use Top performer as a way to confirm it, while someone newer to interview practice is more likely to work toward Well-rounded first.

## Frequently asked questions

### What does the Well-rounded achievement require?

Completing all six practice interview types at least once each: general, job-description-based, technical, comprehensive, resume-based, and salary negotiation.

### Does the real job-board screening interview count toward Well-rounded?

No. Job-board intro screening is the real interview an employer sees when a candidate applies. Well-rounded tracks the six private practice types separately.

### What score do I need for the Top performer achievement?

A single session scoring 90 percent or higher earns Top performer, regardless of which of the six practice types it was.

### Do achievements ever reset?

No. Once earned, an achievement stays on a candidate's record; it isn't tied to a rolling average that could fall back below the threshold later.

### Can I earn Well-rounded and Top performer at the same time?

Yes. They track separate criteria, breadth across the six practice types for one, a single high-scoring session for the other, so a candidate can earn both independently and in either order.
