Typing a role name into a search box gets you a wall of postings with no read on any of them. ## How the search actually works

Ask in plain language: a role, a location, a work arrangement, an industry, a company you're curious about. The agent calls search_jobs with your query plus your profile and resume on file, and the results are scored for role fit, location match, and how closely your resume lines up with the posting's language, then rendered as cards beneath its reply with title, company, location, and pay where the employer listed it. You can then ask it to open any one of them in full with get_job_details, which pulls the complete description, responsibilities, requirements, benefits, and employer info rather than the short summary from the search card.

It can also read a public company careers page you paste in and pull out what's currently open there, useful when you already know who you want to work for and want to check without leaving the conversation. That tool reads public pages only. It can't get past a login wall, so a site like LinkedIn needs a different route, which is why LinkedIn import exists as its own capability rather than being folded into search.

## A search, start to finish

You type: "find remote data analyst roles that match my resume." The agent calls search_jobs with that query against your profile and resume, and five or six postings render as cards under its reply, company, location, pay range where listed. In its own words it doesn't repeat the list. It picks out two that genuinely fit, maybe one names a tool you already use daily in its requirements, and says so plainly, then flags a third that pays well but wants more seniority than your resume currently shows.

From there it offers the natural next steps rather than waiting for you to think of them: score your resume against a specific one of these, pull the full description on the strongest match, save a couple for later, or start an application on the one you like best. Each of those is a separate, named step, and none of them happen until you ask for it.

## What search does and doesn't touch

Searching and reading postings are read-only actions, so nothing about them touches an approval card, they just run as soon as you ask. Approval only enters the picture once you move from browsing to acting: saving a job or starting an application, which are separate tools covered elsewhere, each with their own confirmation step.

The personalization behind search draws only on your own profile and resume, never another candidate's data, and it can't see anything on the employer side beyond what's published on the posting itself.
